Ph.D. Programme: Mathematical Methods in Natural Sciences
The competition is open for two post-doctoral positions for a minimum period of 6 months:
  • Scientific computations in continuum mechanics
    For this position we expect programming skills (in particular in C/C++, Fortran, Matlab) and experience in numerical simulations and/or analysis of partial differential equations
  • Biomathematical models: differential equations and statistical analysis
    For this position we expect experience in interdisciplinary work and real world applications including statistical analysis of biomedical data. Education in both mathematics and biology or medicine will be an advantage.
    The main task of post-docs will be a mentoring and collaboration with PhD students of the PhD Programme: MMNS. The susscessful candidates will be employed at the University of Warsaw.
Deadline for application: 31st May 2013 at 18:00 h (UTC+2).
The minimum requirements for acceptance as a post-doc at the MMNS are:
  • PhD title obtained not earlier than 4 years ago. This period can be prolonged by the parental leave for 2 years.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Willingness and capability to actively participate in the MMNS.

The following criteria will be taken into account in the evaluation process:
  • Scientific achievements of the candidate.
  • Research experience (former positions at universities and other scientific institutions, scientific scholarships, participation in scientific projects/grants)
  • Foreign internships.
  • Participation in conferences/workshops/schools.
